Why We Need Minerals …

Why do we need minerals in our diet? With so much hype about vitamins we rarely think about minerals other than possibly being a trace ingredient that you see here and there in certain pre-Packaged foods and seasonings perhaps. Yet, the answer to that question is In one sentence: Our bodies can’t produce all of the nutrients that we need to function properly, so we have to eat them.

Minerals- What are They?

Minerals are inorganic substances, which occur naturally in non-living things such as water, rocks and soil, as well as in plants and animals. Some minerals are for our cells to function properly, so they are actively taken into plants from the soil and water.  We obtain minerals when we eat plants, as well as from water.

The Role Minerals play In Our Bodies... 

Minerals play a major role in our body.  Almost every part of our bodies use’s mineral’s (see picture in heading illustration…)  Minerals are needed for the body to work properly, for growth and development, and overall, for maintaining normal health.
